Together is a design research project that bridges the gap between tradition and contemporary fashion by connecting traditional Sindhi embroidery with modern design aesthetics. The project seeks to create a meaningful dialogue between the past and the present while spotlighting the artisans whose craftsmanship and creativity bring these designs to life.
Through this journey to Sindh, the project celebrates the cultural heritage of the region and reimagines it within today’s global fashion landscape. The aim is to honour tradition while ensuring its relevance in the modern world, preserving techniques that define Sindhi identity.
My research focuses on preserving and adapting Sindhi hand craftsmanship within a contemporary design context, effectively bringing together two distinct worlds. It also seeks to empower women artisans through fair trade practices and to contribute to global conversations on cultural preservation and sustainability.
The project combines extensive cultural and historical research with practical design experimentation and critical analysis, exploring both the creative and social dimensions of heritage-inspired design.
